Do you know what your company values? Is it written down or just in your head? I would encourage you to write down your company values. However, if you are only writing them down to be philosophical you've missed the point of capturing your values completely.
Getting your company values down on paper is a way to help you track against them and guide your business forward based on those ideals. Having your business values top of mind influence everything from company culture to onboarding new employees.
Make sure your values are visible and available to all within the company, but more importantly that the values are understood. It is only when your business values are understood by all within organization that you can move forward efficiently and effectively.
Are you unsure how to collect and present your values? Don't worry, plenty of companies make their values available online, Zappos, Google, Whole Foods. Now a word of caution, don't copy another company's values as your own. Your company's core values must be based on your unique approach to doing business. Make the values personal in a way that resonate inside and outside of your company walls.
We would like to share our Core Values with you, so you know what we value.
